As a trio of screenwriters, we are first and foremost storytellers who love an edgy and emotional ride. We don’t shy from cultural subtext that features strong themes ranging from grounded horror to crime thrillers to dark comedies. Whether writing the relevant independent script or the commercially-driven big story, we are bottom-line driven without sacrificing quality.
Patty Hickman:
I wrote 17 novels for the Big Five houses before turning my sights on writing for TV and Film. I have a MFA from Queens University where I studied storytelling and film writing under major writers, including Pulitzer-prize winning authors.
My influences include dark thrillers and surprising comedies including influential directors like David Finch, Takai Watiti, Patty Jenkins, Greta Gerwig, Mary Herron, David Leitch, and of course, my evergreen heroes, Steven Spielberg and Ron Howard.
Randy Hickman:
I add collaboratively to our stories, delving into character while adding authenticity through research and development. My influences are James L. Brooks, Guillermo del Toro Gomez, and Vince Gilligan.
Joshua Hickman:
I studied filmmaking at the New School and music performance at Berklee College of Music, acting and singing for artists such as Paula Cole and Burt Bacharach. I’ve performed in off-Broadway musicals, as well as in New York-based television series and feature films. My role as a co-writer for ZombieDog allows me to develop original screenplays and TV series, many that feature female leads with risk-taking mercurial characters.
My influences include filmmakers Steven Knight, Dennis Villieneuve, and Todd Berger. I am driven by plots that challenge the notion of good versus bad as well as leaving the audience with the sense of wonder we all have known but want to capture as our own lightning in a bottle film.
